The Holy and The Human

In The Saint John’s Bible, on the second page showing Leviticus 19, there is a little bird in the margin. It has a rope in its talons running down the side of the text and at the bottom it is attached to a box of text. The bird’s beak points to the place above where the text should be inserted. June 28 is closing day for this excellent exhibit featuring the Heritage Edition of The Saint John’s Bible, Quilts from Sacred Threads, and Joyful Art. The Art of the Sacred is the first show of its kind, combining text and fiber to offer the viewer a sacred visual experience.

Stressed Out

So here it is: Choose life, not stress. Choose God first and not the body, and stress will fall away, and the body will still be OK. Learn something about God by heart and make space for your soul to breathe. This is intentional evolution beyond the biology of fight and flight. This is the express train to the Promise Land and it is what I hope for our children and our children’s children. It is what we can pass onto them, if we possess it ourselves.
