An under-appreciated aspect of World War II history is the extremely important role, or as unfortunately was often the case, the non-role of the Church in England, Germany, and Italy before and during World War II. We’ll discuss why the Church mattered to the leadership in each country and what the Church did in each instance. We’ll also reflect on what is the appropriate role for the Church during times of extreme conflict.
