Laura Sargent started as Youth Ministry Convener at Epiphany in January of 2013.
Born and raised in Southern California, Laura and her family were very active in their local Episcopal church. She was also a camper, counselor, and then staff person at Camp Stevens, the Episcopal camp owned by the Dioceses of LA and San Diego. It is there that Laura received the best training possible for living in Christian community and dealing with its joys and challenges, as well as for how to create such a successful community in other locations.
Laura has a degree in Political Science from Boston University and remained in Boston for seven years after college working in public relations and for the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She sang in the choir at Trinity Church in Copley Square, volunteered as a youth mentor, and with Sole Train, a youth running and mentoring program.
Laura and her husband, Jim Marlow, moved to Seattle in the fall of 2012 and became members of Epiphany right away. In her spare time Laura likes to listen to music, spend time with good friends, cook, read, and work out. Jim and Laura have one daughter, Vivian.
