Community

Epiphany is a neighborhood church for the city of Seattle and a place that welcomes you wherever you are on your spiritual journey. At the core of our community is a belief that in the kingdom of God, relationship is primary. We grow to our greatest spiritual maturity in partnership with God and with our neighbors.

For this to happen we must know and trust one another. Knowledge of, and trust in, God comes through worship, study, and prayer. Knowledge of, and trust in, our neighbor comes through engagement. Every opportunity to get together with others from Epiphany is a step forward in our spiritual growth. We praise God together, we study together, we celebrate together, and we work together. In all these ways trust is built, knowledge of the other gained, and the infrastructure of our soul is enhanced.

And here is the wonderful bonus to this engaging our neighbor—the world is made a better place.  Whether is it just two people taking Communion to a parishioner in the hospital, the world is made a better place; whether it is just a few young people from the youth group cleaning an apartment at the YWCA transitional housing facility, the world is made a better place; whether it is just two men sleeping on the floor at the church with men from Operation Nightwatch, the world is made a better place. For in these venues of engagement we are better known each to the other, and to be known is a most helpful step in our spiritual formation.
