Dorothy Day is perhaps less well known than famous Christians such as Thomas Merton and St. Francis, but she is recognized as one of the principal social justice Christians of the 20th century American church.  An uncompromising pacifist and advocate for the poor, she founded the Catholic Worker Movement, now a national organization that stands as a testament to her life and witness.
