Epiphany’s Summer Read: Jesus, Man not Myth

Sunday: 6/17
Time: 9:15-10:15 am
Location: Great Hall

This summer, The Reverend Doyt Conn is recommending Jesus, Man not Myth by the Reverend Peter Snow as Epiphany Parish’s summer read.  This novel reveals the familiar bible stories as one narrative. It’s told from the point of view of the disciple John as he looks back from his last days in exile on the Island of Patmos. John reflects on the many characters he’s known, and the novel provides fresh and sometimes startling historic context. The centerpiece, though, is the extraordinary character and development of Jesus as a man who came to understand his own divinity and “…humbled himself and became obedient, even to death on a cross.”  After the presentation, books will be available for purchase, and Reverend Snow will be available to sign them.
