Youth Group
Jr. EYC is geared toward Jr. High and Middle School aged youth. The group meets on Sunday mornings during the regular 10:15 service. Activities include a discussion on current events, applying the gospel reading to our lives at school, and just an opportunity to hang out and have a breakfast snack with same-aged folks. Below are a list of fun and exciting opportunities for Jr. EYC members:
Lock-In: And you thought Church wasn't fun! We spend the night at the church and play games, eat great food, and watch movies. Plus, spend time reflecting on gospel readings and teen-life issues. Not to be missed.
YC Camps & Conferences: The Office of Faith Development sponsors Diocesan-wide youth camps and other activities for greater participation for Jr. High youth groups around Western Washington. Great opportunity to meet new friends beyond school and local church!
Mission Trips: Every year the Youth group takes a mission trip to serve those in need in another part of the world. Most of these trips have been out of the country to Mexico, and one year the group took a trip to West Virginia. The trips are an important part of developing young folks first-hand awareness of the needs on our planet. Plus, the mission trip provides an opportunity to work at "pulling off" a big achievement at an early stage in life.
Lock-Ins: The lock-ins for High School students provide opportunities for hanging out and building community. Always a blast, there is a "mystery" activity that facilitates team building opportunities as well. One of the best events for EYC members!
Welcome back retreat: Don't miss out on this yearly event! Old friends are united and new members are welcomed to the EYC family at this weekend retreat. This event is full of food, fun and good times for all to enjoy.
Worship opportunities: There are a number of ways one can participate in the worship at Epiphany Parish. The most popular opportunities are the Acolytes ministry at both the 8:00 and 10:15 PM Sunday services as well as other liturgical events throughout the year.
