Wednesday | November 13 | 4:30 – 6:00 pm | Fireside Room
In an age of the internet, email and faxes, some have deemed the impact of letters obsolete. However, government representatives are growing increasingly responsive and reliant on feedback and suggestions from their constituents. Writing campaigns can and do make a difference. The purpose of this group will be to empower your voice to be heard and to have your opinion shared with the people in office who can make a difference.
This is not envisioned as an issues group, but rather one where everyone’s opinion is equally valid and all worthy to be sent to elected officials. We will meet the second Wednesday of the month from 4:30-6 pm, have some wine and cheese and do some letter writing or emailing. This group will follow the guidelines of love God, love your neighbor, now go change the world. Conversations will be thoughtful and kind, and not based around political action in any way. What is being written will be between the writer and the intended recipient. At the beginning of each meeting a prayer covenant will be read, reminding all in attendance that this gathering convenes as a place safe for political activism, without political conversation. Structures will be in place to assure this is the case.
Mary Anne Ward will be leading this ministry, if you would like more information or have questions, please contact Mary Anne at email@example.com.
