It is not often that great fiction arises from the middle school genre. Wonder is an exception. It’s the story of Augie Pullman who was born with a facial deformity and starts a new school: middle school! Narrated in first person by Auggie and the people in his life, The book is a beautiful story of redemption and reconciliation with very powerful themes for us to ponder.
As a bit of a play on words, we’re also going to play the pub theology game “I’ve always wondered” in the last half hour of every session. We will put questions we’ve always wondered about Christianity theology or church in a jar. Doyt will pick them out and answer them on the spot. Maybe we should call the game “Stump the rector”?
Worship, good food, fellowship, fun…. How can you beat that for a Wednesday night in December?
